Default The Hunter

A Polish of one of my earlier class's, havnt made a Class in a while. Felt like the challenge.

The hunter is your classic Matthew Hopkins type. Purging the world of such evils as necromancy, Demons and undead. The focus on using Fire and holy (Cant decide if it should be the good kind ). A real spanner int he works, this guy lives the thrill of the hunt.

On to the actual Class thou!

Apearance
I suppose It will have to be the classic Leather coat and hat....Theres something about GW that uses the classics with a twist. Perhaps later armor sets would be a bit more....Unique

Gear
A choice of 2 weapons for your purging Pleasure:

The Witchblade
The weight and function of your average Longsword, with a few "Ajustments" Forged of Silver or Pure Iron (A long and thankless Task i assure you) these blades pack quite a punch in the right situations. The dividing line between them is the Silver/Iron Function. All of the blades are classed as either Silver or Iron each with there advantages.

Silver weapons offer a natural 5% damage bonus against Demons
Iron weapons offer a natural 5% damage bonus against Undead

Witchblades also drop with natural mods, these can not be salvaged but can be modded over.

In conclusion, I give you - The witchblade:

Firey Witchblade
Fire damage 15-22
Silver

Witchblade of Hunting
15-22
Iron
5% Vs Unholy Creaures

Unholy creatures are Undead, Demons and summon creatures. The Class of unholy can be given under Bane Arts, Hunters cannot be be unholy, Monks are unholy for 1/2 the duration stated

Your second weapon choice

Crossbow
Ahh yes...the elegant Crossbow, perhaps not as varied as the witchblade, but with the power to hit HARD. The hunters Crossbows are build for power more than speed. But are still well worth it.

The two mods for the crossbow are the Grip and Bolts (I know your not supposed to use the actual weapon part for a mod but meh...)

Your Crossbow

25 -32 (ouch)
Flight Time 0.50
Range, Shortbow
Crossbow Bolts do not arc, Straight Line
Refire Rate 3.0 seconds

Onto the Attributes!

Attributes - Didnt see that comming did you

Bane Arts
Primary. For each rank in Bane arts you gain a 6.25% chance to deal holy damage when on a Critical Hit (yes do the maths). Bane arts also deals with skills dealing with Spellcasting and Destroying Undead/Demons.

Blade Mastery
Blade Mastery increases the damage you do with Witch-Blades and your chance to inflict a critical hit when using a Blade. Many skills, especially Blade attack skills, become more effective with higher Blade Mastery.

NOTES: At Rank 16 A natural Blademaster ability (much like Lightbringer)
is activated, giving an extra 5% chance to critical With Blades

Crossbow Mastery
Meh you work it out

Hunting
No inherent effect. Many Hunter skills, especially Offering Hunts, become more effective with higher Fire Magic.

To the Hunt!

Hi, ^^!..
Is the MC you referring to is me^^?
Well for improvements the only prob is that your CC is just based on killing undead (which means everything)^^.
Try a different role^^.
Maybe killing the Undead is nice too, like an Anti-Evil^^.
Try reading AJ's Inquisitor
Learn From it^^.
Lastly if you were referring to me why me^^?
I just started Last Month^^.
So you may say I am new here^^.
And what you did was ask a 12 yrs old boy for help^^.
Have fun with your works^^!

Mr.G is here again? Welcome back...

now.. enough of the small talk.. on the reviews...

-I don't like the name Hunter too much, as it is mostly establish that hunter in GW is more of one that hunt animals. What about "Slayer"? (I like Buffy...)

-For Bane Art... feel a bit too specialize.. especially if use in PvP. And instead of adding Chance upon chance, how about just say "Do X more Holy damage when roll critical"

-Elmo fan?

-I like "Unholy Vigour".. really add on alot to possible builds

-Iffy about adding new sword weapon... It help.. but still iffy....

-For most part... still feel alot like a Smiting Pargaon.

The theme is pretty popular. The overall spread of the attribute is not bad. But think would really benenfit if can add few additional new mechanic that would introduce some new playing-style.

And whats up with a shifty glance toward a 5th grade child? You sure I have not seen on the show "To Catch a Predator".... yet?

Rofl, Poor Actionjack and [M][C]. Hm now then let's get down to the critizism.

Lets see... This class seems to be a mix of a Ranger and a Paragon, with the ability to equip swords that cause elemental damage. Seems a bit overused, the conjunction of two classes together. I'll admit that I've come up with ideas like this as well and didn't even notice.

Anyways, I believe we've got a problem on the Attributes. 1, Blade Mastery seems to be acting as a [Primary] attribute instead of just a normal: "Increase Damage/skills/etc in this attribute." So I'd suggest changing that around. 2, The "Special Effect" on the Blade Mastery (Once Reaching Rank 16) seems a bit... well uninformed. Meaning that you should probably add a note like that in the description of the attribute or just ignore that Idea all together (Because it seems like that'd be unfair to Non-Primary Hunters who cannot reach rank 16, and it seems very 'primary'-ish.)

Next, some of the skills... A bit farfetched:

It seems like this skill would be very underused since it only targets a certain range of classes. I'd suggest making it more like this:
*For 2...6 seconds each adjacent ally gains +2 Health Ragain for every enchanted ally in range. (Or something with a twist like that.)

Here's another Skill that could use some work:

First of all a shout uses a certain range that allows it to effect allies/enemies, and second of all I don't believe the "for each spell in THEIR bar" thing will work. Simply because its not been used before and I don't believe that ANet would like to put in some fixes for a certain class to deal damage to foes based on their amount of Spells, but who knows.

I also don't exactly see where you're trying to implement your "Hunt" idea, for you did not label any skill with that Title. So I find it a bit confusing on which skills you want to be "Hunt"s and which ones you're calling 'Shouts.' Honestly I'd try not to add another "Shout" clone to the game and think of a few other ways to affect allies without using the "ally in range" effect for it has been used. I don't think anyone would care that people used them for a few skills but not as a "New" skill to add (Since it's already been done.)

That's all the ranting I'll do for now, I suggest just working on a few other things as well:
-The Armor (Add a Headpeice since GW is known to be Unique in that Subject.)
-Background (They don't really have one, might want to add that so they can connect with the GW universe.)
-Fix up the Attributes a little and try to make them a little more understandable,

@ innocence well actually warriors have shouts that target a singe creature, this was something from prophesies it is only later that Anet really figured out what they wanted to do with shouts, to make them different from everything else.
I guess that when NF came out they couldn't change it anymore as that would have messed with balance too much.(still why not that is what the change weekends are for right?)

Also the mesmers skill Wastrels Demise hits you for X damage for each spell in your skill bar if you are nto casting a spell.
Its a NF skill and indeed that check had never been used before, but it is apparently there as monks also got a signet with Factions that damages a foe for X for each adrenal skill in it's bar.

But!
Which craft is kind of a weird skill, as shouts do not affect foes directly, they affect their state or morale.
You take away faith or the will to fight, or on your allies you inspire them with more will to fight or the strength to survive a little longer.
I have no idea how you could get someone to set themselves on fire(yes they have to it themselves, you're just yelling at them) for using the magic that is theirs and that they love as they would be dead without it.

If it where some kind of touch skill/magical fire punisher thing I would get it, as a shout its kind of weird.
If you name it Penance of Witchcraft and make it a spell or skill it would be mroe logical.

Why do shouts make you unholy? I think it would go more for necro, mesmer, sin and elementalist enchantments.
Problem is in GW there is more than 1 god, so no class is really unholy as they all revere at least 1 god.
Therefor only a class that submits to Abbadon or another fallen god is truly unholy. Even an undead ranger could pray to Melanu(I think).
Far as I know they are not mindless zombies they are the people of orr brought back by their violent death and unable to find rest they seek vengeance, or something cryptic like that, but not mindless zombies going "Braaaiiiinnnzzzz!"

So unholy would be kind of hard to justify I fear.

We'll I like the Van Hellsing identity it could stand for some good looking armor, And I am oh so glad you did not give it an auto fire crossbow that is so ridiculously impossible.
I think you should make your crossbow have longbow range, but it does fit nicely with the identity, I'll be able to say more on it once I've seen some skills.

The arm blade kind of need something to make them deferent from swords, like daggers have dual attack and scythes AoE.
Don't have an idea for something right now, to everyone that reads suggestions please: for a cool additional function for a witchblade.

Gee, over here I get a 1 if my reports obviously have copied text in them, don't know how it is, but you might get an F for it or a 0% or a 20.

It's not the most orderly, or a really good CC, but finish it; I see at least some potential here.

ok time to fix some skills....

@Blashpemy
the idea behind this skill was the use of evil or blashphemes (ok...cant spell that) words...perhaps "if target uses shout" I realised youd never really know anyway
